I actually run a sort of WFMU repeater in my home. Connecting the streamed signal from my computer to my stereo via a wire is too noisy, so I bought a little iRock transmitter, and it filters out all the noise. Too bad the range is only about a foot...

There are actual much better FM transmitters out there, including the one made by Crain's.

You're talking about that CCrane one? Seventy bucks, but it looks cool. There's a place out in California that has a really powerful one for $159, and they warned me not to screw around when I emailed them. I think somebody should combine the fm receiver, mp3 player/recorder, cell phone and lpfm transmitter in one neat package. Then I'll buy.
