Bruce Haack documentary on Google Video

Bruce HaackIf you missed the 2004 documentary Bruce Haack: The King of Techno, you're in luck: it's available for viewing for free on Google Video, thanks to your friends at Netflix. While the film got mixed reviews when it was released (as the Chicago Reader noted, the last third of the film is basically a promo for the Bruce Haack tribute album Dimension Mix), it's definitely worth viewing just for the amazing archival footage of Bruce performing on various TV shows (including an appearance on Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood!). Video link found at Get LoFi Circuit Bending blog.

Bruce Haack is of course a big favorite on WFMU, and when I was at the WFMU Record Fair in 2000 I scored a vinyl copy of Dance To The Music, one of the children's records that he did with Esther Nelson. Here's an MP3 that I posted from that album when I worked with Otis Fodder on his 365 Days project: "Soul Transportation" (4.8 meg MP3 file).
