I recall seeing somewhere online an experimental security measure that used a photograph in a very similar manner. You specified five or so points in the photograph of a busy city street corner as a kind of visual password. To retrieve your protected information, you would click those same five points. While probably a reasonable way to deter fully-automated brute force attacks because of its inherent CAPTCHA nature, it still probably would still be too weak for realistic protection -- as you can tell with the photo, there's a fairly discreet number of points of interest, although it would obviously be different (and the security measure stronger) with a much more elaborate image.
