Prof, regarding the price of the DE1103: they're up to $49.90 plus shipping (often $24) on eBay now, so the possible savings over buying a Kaito (American version) are less than before.

Another problem I have with my BCL-2000 is with strong local signals causing adjacent channel interference (making the frequencies 10 khz higher or lower than the station difficult or impossible to use).
