Unbelievable! I never thought I would come across these recordings on the web. I was a member of the last FHS Marimba Band in 1979-1980. One of the coolest things we did was perform for Pearl Bailey in downtown D.C. I still remember that picture of us with these groovy green shirts and vests and my hands all over the marimba. I have been a band director for the last 20 years and I would really fuss at a kid who would put his hands all over a marimba. Anyway, Mr. Hines congratulations on your continued influence on music and music education.

Oh my goodness! Such a long time ago... The Fairfax High School Marimba Band was the bomb! The music still sounds great!!!
