Oh yeah, this is great! Thanks for the post.

Thank you -- I've been wondering how to pronounce Eugene Ysaye for years now.

Henry Lowengard

.. but he messed up Евгений Онегин, pronouncing it as if "Евгений" were "Eugen" in German ("OY-ghen").

ignoramus.

weeble warble

i've heard steve reich on radio programs and such, and he pronounces it with a soft "ch," as if it were "reish."

Wow. I've never heard a more honkified pronunciation of Carlos Salzedo's name. Not to mention Joseph de Pasquale's. Hilarious find... I'm really happy this guy isn't my Dad.

A virtual world tour of slaughtering languages, so very painful to hear. What a find!

Sadly, this guy IS my dad hehe... He always goes around over-anunciating things around my kids and it annoys the crap outta me. I make a point of slurring words around him for exactly that reason. Sadly, he did that to me when I was a kid and I used to talk weird and get picked on for it.

To clarify, it's not this specific guy who is my dad, it's just that it might as well be.

Daniel

An interesting post indeed. Thanks.
