What with all the talk of Anna Nicole Smith, somebody seems to have forgotten to let you know that the creator of Li'l Jinx passed away just about twelve hours later. Remember Li'l Jinx? Yeah ... you do.

So glad to see Joe remembered here.
Joe was a member of the National Cartoonists Society Long Island Chapter (the "Berndt Toast Gang") and it was my pleasure to get to know Joe over the past 6 years. Joe was a gentleman; a soft spoken fellow who loved to draw.
A remembrance of Joe, as well as a recent photo, from my blog:

Well, Li'l Jinx does predate Dennis the Menace, if memory serves, but the "We only have to sell one" is right out of a Dennis the Menace panel in one of the old paperbacks.
But considering the level of borrowing I see elsewhere, Jinx is practically blameless. It was a good, long run.
