More oldsters rocking out, and this time, it's not even a viral ad for Mountain Dew:
It's The Zimmers Band, starring 90-year-old Alf, from an advance clip of a BBC television documentary made by Tim Samuels to air in May '07. (This clip was recorded at the Beatles 2 Studio at Abbey Road studios, hence the reenactment of the Abbey Road cover photo.)
Always ahead of the curve, Brian posted on the Young@Heart Chorus covering Sonic Youth here.

This is flat-out great, aside from a few useless aesthetic directorial touches right before the end. Whoever put this together did a great job creating--and then showing--dedication, enjoyment, and wonder in the faces of these people. This is especially welcome to someone like me who so often thinks of old people as a mixture of sour, sad, and lost. Also, it is part of that creeping sensation I am getting that coming generations of old people are going to need some fucking seriously engaging entertainment and socialization options. I know when I'm ninety, staring out the window isn't going to cut it.
