Buena Vista High Symphonic and Show Band - The Six Wives of Henry VIII (6:46)
The main reason I picked up this record was because I thought "The Six Wives of Henry VIII" was a Rick Wakeman cover. Nothing like high school kids tackling prog rock! It turned out NOT to be a Rick Wakeman cover, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. There's no composer credit, so I really don't know anything about the piece, but it's got some great lead synth noodling and your usual out-of-tune student orchestra. There are some other nice tracks on the records, including the theme from "Shaft" and "Up Tight."

Boy, does this bring back memories...I played the same arrangement in 1974 in my high school band...with our new Arp synthesizer and an electric bassist.
Listen again...you'll find that it IS an arrangement of several of the themes from the Wakeman album. It's not a note-for-note cover, though.
