Indeed they were called "Sound Burgers" here in the UK as well. I recall them appearing round the early 80s. I know for a fact there are record collectors who do carry these devices to record fairs to audition discs. A neat little invention!

I remember seeing these at J&R Music World back in the mid-1980s. Now somebody has to post information on the linear-tracking turntables.
