I finally got my wisdom teeth out last week and ran out of Vicatin this morning. So right now my face basically feels like this Consumer Electronics tape sounds. Pain like this might've inspired harsh noises such as these, but it wasn't the case - Phillip Best was only an unwise fourteen when he recorded this. Actually, he had just run away from home and started to collaborate with Whitehouse's William Bennet....my guess is something weirder that dental woes inspired this stuff. Released in 1982, Leathersex kicked off both the Consumer Electronics solo project and Best's own short-lived Iphar label. RRRecords rereleased portions of this tape in 1993 as part of a three LP boxed set, limited to 300.
Whew, I just scared myself....I thought I'd committed libel...I just noticed the sounds about seventeen minutes into track two of this album sound really similar to track three of the Etant Donnes tape I posted two weeks ago, which came out a year earlier. I thought maybe I'd implied that Etant Donnes had sampled a tape from the future. But they're different after all. No samplage, no discrepancy. Although I did misprint the number of soleils said in the Etant Donnes post. There are 102 in all. Sorry. You shouldn't trust me about this stuff. I'm pretty unprofessional. This sentence is a lie.

You're not unprofessional -- you're just out of drugs!
