From the Tiny ASWA label of far Northwest, Indiana, comes my offering from today. Tipsie Lee was 13 years old when she made this record, as indicated by the information on the record label. I am deeply fond of this entire record, but really live first, for the moment that she inhales sharply at about the 22 second point, and second, for the way she sounds like she's about to go off the rails on the high notes during the bridges. Oh, and the "Adrian Loraine Orchestra" sounds like it may have been the smallest "orchestra" in history. But beyond all that, really, the whole thing is just a two minute trip into a totally different time and place.

Hi, I've been going thru old family records and found this 45. I did a search on Tipsie Lee and came across your blog. Adrian Loraine is my dad and he recorded Traveling Love in our basement recording studio in Hammond Ind. in the early 60s. I was blown away to find your blog!

Hey there,
Don't know if you'll see this or not, but I'm very glad to have heard from a relative of someone who was involved in this wonderful record. I love learning that this was recorded in a basement! - Bob

Hi Bob!
Well better late than never. I just saw your 2009 response to my 2008 response. Along with commercial recordings my Dad made in the basement studio, he would also make records of us kids playing the piano and singing and give this to our great grandmother on Christmas. Unfortunately, I only have one but I just transferred it to CD!
