On a sweltering afternoon twenty summers ago, TV Legend met Radio Legend in the basement of Froeberg Hall on the campus of Upsala College in East Orange, New Jersey. Presented here for the first time since its original FMU broadcast is the historic meeting of Grandpa Al Lewis and Glen Jones. Back in 1988 Jonesey was going by the name of "Scarface Jones" and Lewis was running an Italian restaurant/tourist trap in the West Village (ten years before his Green Party run for New York Governor). Accompanied by X-Ray Burns and The General, Jones and Grandpa discuss college basketball, Nat Hiken, John Lennon and the unmentionable. A stellar moment in time for all involved. this is wonderful, thank you for posting it. I love Glen Jones! I love Al Lewis! ...and X-Ray Burns' voice doesn't have that smooth mature timbre yet!

Wow - indeed it is amazing ...I've been a big fan of Jones and Burns for some years (listening from the UK ). Burn's voice does indeed sound quite different - is that the microphone, room, not so many cigarettes !?
what a gem of a recording, is it possible to organise posting of any other older Jones show's .. the archives only go back to 2000
