So this doesn't happen again.

"Interesting that you would quote Mencken, hazmania. He was about as elitist as they come.

... and still right 50+ years later. Thanks for confirming my observation.

No menken mention could be complete without this timeless quote ( how did he know of W. in advance? ).
"The Presidency tends, year by year, to go to such men. As democracy is perfected, the office represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

Kudos to you Irwin.
The Obama fanaticism is frighteningly
similar to the fervor that brought
Hitler into power.
Let's review the holy one's record:
-He voted for renewal of the patriot act.
-He has aligned himself publicly with James Baker's
group who believes that the president should simply
inform congress when he declares a war when the
president has NO constitutional authority to declare war,
therefore Obama believes the president, like a dictator, can
start a war if he pleases.
-Has called for an increase of troops in Afghanistan.
-Is pro the fake war on terror.
-Has barked like an imperialist at Iran and considers
attacking them an option.
-Has barked at Russia like an imperialist blaming them
for the attack when we have citizens on the ground during
the attack saying that the Goergian army attacked not the
Russians on Fox News.
-Has a pre-school knowledge of the economy and voted for
bailing out the federal reserve banks and wall streeters
who created and profited from the current economic crisis.
and on and on and on . . .
This is a pathetic record of a man who stands in opposition
to our constitutionalist and in fact will usher in more of the
same direction we are headed.

I have been an FMU listener and supporter for years, and this is the very first time that FMU has pissed me off in a BIG way. Irwin, why don't you go to the station's archives and listen to the Thomas Scharp's Patriot Zone or something?
The editing together all of the stuttering and umm's of Obama is even more intelligent-sounding than using ALL of the "coherent" portions of Bush or Palin soundbites, combined.
This post really makes me wonder about who the dipsh*ts that brought the Bush Admin into power really were... If people who support and contribute to an institution as great as WFMU is, can actually support the dredge muck of what the republican party has to offer this weakened nation, then I suppose ANYBODY could.
It truly is disheartening.

How dare you disagree with all these free-thinkers, Irwin?
