From the good folks at TM Productions, who brought you the incredible Tomorrow Radio demo, comes a different type of radio imaging.
Along with ID campaigns, TM also created customizable advertising beds. This helped to create a consistent sound for a station and saved smaller stations the expense of an in-house or freelance composer. All the musical and jingle tracks were included, so all the station had to do was add some announcers and cut everything together.
This album contains all the individual production beds, but I've cut straight to the good stuff: two promotional spots that incorporate all the beds and sell the potential advertiser on the benefits of using TM's campaign. Instead of cutting together an actual demo, the sales force could play this for the advertiser and give them a taste of how great their campaign would sound.
Although there's no date on the album, the uptempo sound on "Lighten Up," a collection for health clubs, puts this in the early 1980s. "Around the Corner, Around the Clock" is a country-styled package for convenience stores with a very funny commercial sketch at the start.
