In honor of Patrick McGoohan, who died last Tuesday, this is a repost of a video which Hatch put up here two years ago. McGoohan created the psychedelic TV cult classic The Prisoner, in which he also starred as the main character, Number 6. And here it is, The Times with the song "I Helped Patrick McGoohan Escape". And for all of you who haven't seen the original series or who want to watch it again, AMC has all 17 episodes on-line for free. Stream them while you can!

On Tuesday during the middle of busy work day, I got a text message from my brother, who happens to be employed in the line of work where Patrick McGoohan had his biggest parts. The message read: "Six is dead." I called him up, "Did you mean to send that to me or is it part of one of your training exercises?" He said I would know what it meant, and all I could think of was "So, Patrick McGoohan has passed, eh?" He was not a number -- he was a free man. Rest in peace and well done.

Ditto. Why no MSM mention of this? How oddly appropriate (grin). Hey, is it just me, or have the rest of you been living episode 4 for the past two years?
