The illustration shows a bare hot wire making the circuit. In the linked story hot and neutral on the pump were reversed. Both make the hot water pipe electrically hot. KBR must have hired Joe the Plumber to do the electrical work.

Our apartment in the East village had the switch for the bathroom light IN THE SHOWER. The super couldn't understand why I demanded it be moved.
