This is kinda tangential but Irish Wolfhounds are very nice too. Years ago I worked at an animal hospital and there was an Irish Wolfhound named "Bushmill" who would come in occasonially for bathing. Since I was low man on the totem pole the responsibility fell to me. The dog was too large for the tub so it was just me, a garden hose, bucket with soapy water, soft brush and a horse size dog who thought it was playtime. Very sweet dog but I would end up totally soaked.
