Jason Sigal will host live sets from CAVE and Lazer Crystal, a pair of groups out of Chicago. Lazer Crystal's debut LP, the conceptual MCMLXXX, came out last spring on Thrill Jockey; you may check out this video for the track "Love Rhombus." Hear both amazing bands on Talk's Cheap, the morning of 8/17 from 9 AM to noon.

To round out this largely film-centric post, I want to share this song I heard on Joe McGasko's show last weekend: "Amanda" (yup) by Billy Green, which is on the soundtrack to the movie Stone, described by some as "the second-greatest Australian biker movie of all time" and also screened a little while ago at Lincoln Center. Afterward you can listen to Joe talk to Daniel Blumin about the experience and it is funny.

Wouldn't CAVE's most recent release be the EP on Drag City from a couple months ago rather than the Important LP from last year? Of course, both are worthwhile.
