For those out of the loop, these terms refer to a mystery meat pork product that is produced in NJ and is popular within the tri-state area.

I gerw up in Trenton and for as long as I can remember it was called Taylor Pork Roll. Living in Florida it's difficult to find most times, but when I do it's still Taylor Pork Roll.

While in college at Kean University then it was called Newark State in the 1960s. I lived on it. It was the cheapest sandwich on the dinner's menu that was next to the campus. Of course I'd add a milk shake and fries. I was very thin back then. It didn't make me fat and it didn't brake my girl friends budget. We had great times talking with friends over a fried Taylor Ham sandwich.

From Wall, now in West Orange. I still call it pork roll, but then say "taylor ham?" if they look at me like I'm crazy.

North jersey pretty much starts north of New Brunswick, generally past exit 9 on the turnpike.. Rutgers brings in people from all over and that's why there's disparity in how people refer to it there. I'm originally from south jerz and we call it pork roll because that's what it is!! Used to have to battle my friends at Rutgers on this subject and South Jersey always wins
