It is probably the most terrifying thing the BBC has ever done, that clown character.
He used to pop up every now and then on the television when things went wrong or when the daily programming ended late at night, thus leaving millions of children across the country mentally scarred.

The little girl scared me more than the clown as a child. It could explain my aversion to naughts and crosses.
