With the Memorial Day holiday just around the corner, we could use a reminder about urban summer recreational options. While rollin' with the top down or BBQ-ing on the beach seem to be West Coast-centric hot weather activities, city-dwelling East Coasters tend to prefer malt liquor or cocktail sipping on the stoop.
During a discussion of summertime in Brooklyn, The Professor alerted me to a seasonal drink recipe guaranteed to cool you down after a hot afternoon spent sitting on the stoop:
Thug Passion (Tupac's favorite drink)
1 shot of alize
1 shot of hennessey cognac
If reading that doesn't make you feel nauseated, here are a few more urban-themed summer drink recipes:
Gangsta Milk
1 Tblsp of 2% milk
1/2 cup of Mad Dog
a little vodka
and the foam from a shook up 22oz of Olde E
Ghetto Fabulous
Get an expensive Snifter glass
fill it with Olde English malt
liquor
drop an olive in the glass
Friday Night Sauce
2 shots of Hot Damn
1 shot of hot sauce
3 shots of Code Red Mountain Dew
(sip and let it sizzle)
Ghetto Blaster
1/4 oz. Kahlua
1/4 oz. Metaxa
1/4 oz. Tequila
1/4 oz. Rye Whiskey
Layer in a shot glass
Playa' Passion
Vodka
1 bottle of (cheap swill) Vodka.
3 BIG bags of Skittles.
2 water bottles (one big, one small).
Sort Skittles into 2 separate piles: one for the red, orange
and yellow, one for the green.
Eat the purple while you work.
Split the vodka into the 2 water bottles
Place green Skittles into small bottle
Place rest of Skittles into big bottle
Let stand for 2 days
Ghetto Margarita
1 shot of tequila
1 shot of 7up
