You forgot "Day After Day" by a band called SHANGO. It came out in 1969 and went..."Day after day, more people come to L.A." "Shhh, don't you tell anybody the whole place shakin' away"

Anyone know more of the lyrics to the song mentioned above (California Shakin Away) by Shango?

Thanks for jogging my memory re Shango. The lyrics I recall are:
(chorus)
Day after day, more people come to LA
Don't you tell anybody the whole place shakin' away
Where can we go when there's no San Fransisco
Better get ready to tie up de boat in Idaho
(verse) Do you know de swim? You better learn quick, Jim
Those who don't know the swim better sing the hymn
(repeat chorus)
I'm sure there are other verses, I just can't recall.

the shango song is not "California Shakin Away". (wikipedia is wrong about it in the san andreas fault entry)
the Shango song is a calypso song called "Day after Day"
The catchy one by the girl group is called "california shakin' away" and is much funnier and better. They sound like the bangles.
some selected lyrics are:
Classic lyrics including:
"There's gonna be an earthquake in this town.
the houses will be falling down..."
...
"It's gonna kill my mom and dad
...
but they better not blame me
cause it's not my fault."
....
"the dogs are chasing their tails around."
....
"my surfboards ready for the tidal wave
I only hope i don't end up back in east la."
Day after Day lyrics are here:
DAY AFTER DAY
(Tommy Reynolds / Stuart Margolin / Jerry Riopelle)
Shango
Day after day, more people come to L.A.
Ssh! Don't you tell anybody the whole place is slipping away.
Where can we go when there's no San Francisco?
Ssh! Better get ready to tie up the boat in Idaho.
Do you know the swim? You better learn quick, Jim.
Those who don't know how to swim, better sing the hymn.
Tuna at the bowl. Fine fillet o' much soul.
Whoo! Whoo! What can we do with a bushel of wet gold?
Day after day, more people come to L.A.
Ssh! Don't you tell anybody the whole place is slipping away.
Where can we go when there's no San Francisco?
Ssh! Better get ready to tie up the boat in Idaho.
Where can we go when there's no San Diego?
Better get ready to tie up the boat in Idaho
(repeat to fade)
