Fred Cole is Godlike, as is other half Toody.
They run a little Guitar shop here in P-town called Tombstone Music.
I remember going in there as teen and seeing them running it as well as one the guitar players from The Jackals who was manning the counter.
I brought in a cruddy little 1962 Silvertone in order to trade it in for something a little more rockin'.
Fred and Toody proceeded to get in a big argument about the actual lineage and maker of the old metal-flaked canoe paddle.
Turns out it was a common Kay.
I got a Big Muff fuzzbox and a humbucker for it.
Fred told me it was the same fuzzbox that Hendrix used to use, so I knew I had to have it. This was long before Grungeā„¢ brought that little box back into prominence.
I didn't know who they where yet, but was still in awe of their timeless hippy-ness fuzed with the store's inherent punkiness.
