MP3s: 22 Incorrect Music artifacts below the jump.
This month's DJ compilation is the Incorrect Music Companion, a collection of Outsider Music compiled by Irwin Chusid and Michelle Boule. Irwin and Michelle did the weekly Incorrect Music hour from 1997 to 2002. You can still hear all their realaudio archives from this page. This collection was their fundraising marathon premium from the March 2001 fundraiser. It includes such Incorrect standard bearers as Mr. Snuggles (MP3), Mother Rage (MP3) as well as an early appearance by the Langley Schools Music Project (MP3). (Illustration by Michelle Boule)
Ann Lever - Crazy
Ann, seeking a record deal or session work, deconstructs Patsy.
Bruce Hirdler - Oh Lord (Please Forgive Me Now)
Bruce, seeking a record deal or redemption, reconstructs where he went wrong.
Margie Pet - I Feel So Good
One of the most enthusiastic disyllabic interpretations of the word "good."
O. Henry Intermediate School #70 Stage Band - Vehicle
The frenetic pace of this rendition makes it about as safe as a Corvair. And yes, the lead singer is male!
Stonehenge - Gloomy Sunday
Glorious proof---must we repeat ourselves?---that drugs, blues-based rock derivatives, and trust funds don't mix.
Gordon Thomas - Boogie Dancing
Finally a disco song with meaningful lyrics and a good beat.
Freddie Martell - The President's Prayer
Hands clasped, heads bowed---and no snickering!
Ella Gibson - Because We Care
We did enough to include Ella's plea to support our fighting forces.
Bob Vido - High-Speed
Echoes of the Shaggs, "Dusty Roads" Rowe, Shooby Taylor and Luie Luie propel Vido into the pantheon of incorrectitude.
Roth Junior High School Stage Band - The Stripper
If this won't inspire you to drop your panties, we dont know what will. But, then, it's performed by high-spirited pre-pubes!
Woodstock Al - Communication Breakdown
Genius---or rubber-necking spectacle? We retained Al's abrupt ending (incorrectus interruptus).
Barbara Taggart (A.S.C.A.P.) (sic) - Summer Wonderland
No vocalist credited, unless Barb's been taking hormones.
Kathy Fire - Mother Rage
Suit-wearing puppet-men---your hour of castration draws near!
Wayne - Deep Bosom Woman
Poignant valentine from ex-hobo troubadour, now resident at the Incorrectional Facility.
Anonymous - Mr. Snuggles
Learn the lyrics and sing 'em to your loved ones. Scare the bejeezus out of them!
Deep Shag Project - Torn Between Two Lovers
Sincerity and overly ambitious vocals: the hallmarks of great incorrectainment.
Jim Noste - I Get A Kick Out of You
Jaunty Jersey home-improvement mogul invests profits in self-recording sideline.
Mystic Zephyrs 4 - Youthquake
Solos, solos and---God help us!---more solos. Drummer auditioned for---and was rejected by---the Shaggs.
Neil Dick - The Future is Now
Neil posits a chronological conundrum.
The Langley Schools Music Project - Space Oddity
Unforgettable
passion---and idiosyncratic cymbal crashes---from these British
Columbia farm kids, recorded in a gym in 1975. We love you, Hans Fenger.
McLeod's Landfill - Recycling Ad
The hidden track from the original CD version of this sampler, and for good reason.
aw yeah!

You are not going to believe this....
I am actually Jim Noste's grandson.
He actually made 2 records. The first, the one you have, was recorded in the early '80's at (you better sit the fuck down)
Sun Studios in Nashville TN.
My grandfather was no joke when it came to production.
The second L.P. was recorded in Newark NJ at his cousins studio 2 years later.
I'm laughing my ass off and can't believe you came across his record. I really don't know what to say.
Contact me at the above e-mail addy if you like. I'm sure I can fill in some blanks, if you even give a shit.
Bye,
G.

Damn! After the laughter stops, man, the grinning head shaking starts. If we people can interpret sound so differently, then no wonder we have misunderstandings throughout the world, right? Thanks, Incorrect Music, for sifting through the sludge to find these nuggets.

I knew WAYNE. I met when I picked him up hitchhiking. I knew Barry, who brought him (hitchhiking) to West Virginia, when he recorded this. I bought two of his CD's from him personally when I picked him up in Morgantown. I gave one copy to Barry. I lost the other. I found "Deep Bosom Woman" through iTunes. I'm wondering what became of Wayne P.
Wayne could speak any language at will, especially Asian languages. Wayne slept on a hand grenade and it blew him up. (source: Wayne) He got air on the (quite sucky and ego-filled) WVU radio station that declined my on-air participation. (I work in media, often with Noam Chomsky and the pioneer Bill Hanley, who engineered Woodstock, and other notables.)

Mere exposure to English doesn’t work; you have to blurt out a larger number of usefull sentences.
