The Association of International Glaucoma Societies presented an operatic hymn about glaucoma in June of 2005 at the Imperial Viennese Glaucoma Ball. Written and composed by Erik Greve and performed by the lovely soprano Melanie Greve (left, squint... oops, I mean click to enlarge). You can download an MP3 of the song here, or hear the song and read the lyrics at the AIGS home page here.

I think you've scooped me on my Best Imaginary Recordings of the Year! Now I'll have to think harder to come up with something more outrageous than this!

A month or so ago, there were 28 references to this on Google. Now there are over 13,000!
AAAnyway, I saw a thing on popular tech news thingy "The Register" asking for your votes for the worst ever corporate anthem. I immediately noted that there was a glaring admission: No Glaucoma Hymn! So I emailed them, and shortly after came the reply:

Subject: Re: Reg reader comment: Is this the worst corporate video ever?
For the Love of all that's Holy. Magnificent!

And so it was that The Glaucoma Hymn found it's way as a late entrant: Look!

It's not that far behind, specially with a late start. Forward it on, get yet mates to vote - we can do it!
