DailySoundZaping is an online artwork that grabs random snippets of sound from the video site Dailymotion and assembles them into a continuous random audio stream. Although its authors intended it as a criticism of user video sites like Dailymotion or Youtube, I love the damn thing. Dailymotion is more internationally flavored than youtube, so DailySoundZaping comes off as a wild audio collage of surveillance microphones from all over the world. Just click on the Family Version or the Full Version and let the still images and sounds spill forth. Be patient, it varies wildly from one moment to the next. Thanks Chris and We-Make-Money-Not-Art.
