The 365 Days Project is back to share once more and the second time around it's happening right smack dab here every single day of 2007.
In 2003 I organized the first 365 Days with over 70 people sharing from their stash of aural treats. Same thing this year with new and old contributors. The only change in 2007 is that everyday can feature more then just one mp3 (as server space was tight four years ago). So look for single songs to full albums shared by a host of contributors. Sharing from their collections in January will be: The Bomarr Monk, Clayton Counts, Pea Hix, Oddio Katya, Michel LeGrisbi, Rocketboy, Strictly Kev, B.C. Sterrett, Mimi la Twisteuse and more.
To start off the year I'm going to backtrack (continue reading below the jump) to the first 365 Days and feature two full recordings instead of the excerpts provided in 2003. No need to write about the recordings as they speak for themselves. Shall we go?
Here we go!

I'm so happy to see this return. I was just sharing my earlier Otis Fodder collection with my 15-year-old son and reliving all those, um, wonderful moments...

I don't know how 2007 is going to end up, but it's starting out as the greatest year ever!

Thanks!

What was it about the late 1970s that saw so many LOUSY Beatles tributes? BEATLES FOREVER, that horrid Beatles medley from the ROLLING STONE 10TH ANNIVERSARY posted here last week, the SGT. PEPPER movie (and soundtrack), BEATLEMANIA on Broadway, the WWII documentary ALL THIS AND WORLD WAR II... Was it extortion on the part of major show biz magnates -- "And we'll CONTINUE producing these rotten Beatles specials, Messrs. Lennon, McCartney, Starr and Harrison, until the four of you patch up your differences and reunite!" -- or something else?

I missed the first one - I certainly won't miss this year! Bravo!!

I think it's very nice of you to do this, and extend my sincere thanks to you for it. Might there be any chance of an RSS feed specifically limited to the 365 Days project? I'm aware there's one for the WFMU site as a whole.

Thank you Otis for doing 365 again! I have been a fan of yours for 7 years now and you will never cease to amaze me. Thanks to you I have been turned on to many outsider/weird/obscure artists that I just wouldn't have heard elsewhere.
Thanks in advance for making 2007 a fun year!
Love ya,

Wow, Mike Mills is my new favorite thing in the whole wide world...
Folgeberg talks about ghosts? I am shocked.
This Rock music of which he speaks makes me sick. Someone should tell Congress.

YES, YES, YES, YES, YES!!
Thanks, Otis, for resurrecting The 365 Days Project; and I second the notion of distributing this via podcast! Or what about putting 365/03 and 365/07 through BitTorrent?

It never ceases to amaze me that no matter how hard you work to give something away for free that people still complain! They don't think of getting off their arses and actually doing what they'd like to see themselves, far too much like hard work. Thanks for all the work you've done already to make this happen Otis and thanks in advance to you and the contributors for the treasures to come

This "Beatles Forever" is horrible, terrible, awful, an aural abortion, sacriligious, agregious, abysmal, a sonic nightmare, a smear on the careers of all involved, simply horrendous.
Thank you!

This really is great news...I'll definitely be here every day (or at least every week) to get my supply of odd and weird. Question: how does one get to be a curator? Sorry if this has already been discussed.
Thanks again for the great(?) music! You've made my year!

Dude! Welcome Back, Thanks and Happy New Year!
The Michael Mills stuff is especially genius.

Well, all I've got to say is..."Goo Goo Ga Joob!" And a GROOVY New Year!
Posted by: Rory Murray | January 02, 2007 at 02:02 PM
Otis - I was a huge fan of the first one, and look forward to the 2nd edition of the project. It's no step backward - you've had three years to rest and reflect, and improvements in technology and hosting allow you to do some things differently. And then...there are sooooooo many recordings that we would never hear otherwise!
Too bad I'm too lazy & poor to get my weird vinyl treasures translated to digital...if a third edition appears, maybe I'll be ready by then to contribute!
Best wishes to you, Otis!

Hurray hurray! I will keep my eyes peeled for groovy tunes to add to the project.
Oh, and we never did get together with our dear friend Anna-Marie for mocktails.

The Satanic messages...if you haven't seen the TED presentation by Michael Shermer about this, go there now and see it.

Yeah, thanks O.
WMFU blog is now, surely, the internet's leading purveyor of awful 1977 Beatles tributes.
