Craig Donaldson - Going To The Sun... Kalispell, Montana (4:20)
From the back cover:
Kalispell, Montana...wild, beautiful and unspoiled! Here in this virgin wilderness country of Montana, you'll find one of the last places in America that still is as it always was!...From the wild flower meadows and majestic glaciers to the waving grain of the farmland, and from the lakes and streams to the forests of ponderosa and tamarack, Kalispell Country is Big Sky County...Big Sky County at its best!
To the Indians of the Northwest, this was, and still is sacred land!...Home of the big horn and grizzly, and the moose, the elk and the blue lakes where the cut-throat cruise!
To be here is to experience the peaceful way of an earlier time, a place where big-hearted people leave the latch string out and greet the stranger with a friendly smile in this bountiful land of natural beauty!
There are few such places left today like the Flathead Valley...so when you go to Kalispell, you're going to the mighty lake, the rivers, the meadows, the mountains, the glaciers, sky...and as the Indian Legend, when their God was last seen climbing the mountains in Glacier Park, you too, can be going to the sun!

This is where my grandparents live. Several years ago they finally got a wal-mart or sam's club, can't remember which, and that's all they talk about is how cheap everything is there. Also, they gripe about the celebrities that are moving in, I think Kevin Costner has a ranch there. The last time I was there they had really cheap cigs, so it's probably worth visiting.

In Hunter S. Thompson's FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS, one of the freaks HST and his attorney encounter on the strip is a drug-crazed artist from Kalispel named Lucy who draws pictures of Barbra Streisand from the TV.

Wasn't it Glen Cambell who always said at the end of his show, "Leave the latch string out and the dogs tied up, I'm coming home".....

Oh. My. God. The guy who does the spoken bit in the middle has GOT to be the same guy that spoke as the President of the International Fabricare Institute in "Dryclean When You Care." Same voice, I swear!

Kalispell is also where Prussian Blue (the white power version of Mary-Kate & Ashley who sing white nationalist folk songs) are from

You know, I haven't heard this yet, and I was going to comment something like "Is this the same Craig Donaldson that did 'I Believe He's Gonna Drive That Rig to Glory', but after reading that comment, it HAS to be. I bet these guys worked together on other records as well!
Now, to hear this thing...

Now that I've heard it, I see the name on the bottom of the back cover - "Great American Music Machine". So those are the same voices on "Rig". Now, if we only had more particulars on "Dryclean".

You'll be happy to know that you are absolutely correct and that Craig Donaldson did sing both the "Rig" song and the Kalipsell song. And, after a 25 year hiatus, he is getting back into music. Check out his website (still under construction) at www.mallard.homestead.com.
