That metal "dink" was quite common on 45s in the fifties. They are seemingly impossible to pop in and out without destroying the record. The technical term for those things steel, metal, or plastic is a "spot."

I am writing a book on the 1960 Pittsburgh Pirates. I was 12 at the time and well remember poems that Cordic would offer in the morning dedicated to the previous night's game. When the Pirates played night games on the West Coast, many fans would first get details of that game from Cordic. I have been unable to obtain any concrete material (tapes, copy, etc.)in regard those poems. Any help would be most appreciated.
