Tate - Oh Black Lung (3:08)
Nothing sets the toe a-tappin' like a mournful musical tale about how a chronic, fatal disease takes its toll on multiple generations of miners in your family due working for the man underground! It's been around for a long time, but don't worry because the government has it covered. Oh, wait a minute...

Terry Tate was my brother, he passed away about two years ago. He wrote this song about the coal miners plight, including our grandfather, father, uncles who worked in the coal mines of West Virginia. He knew very well what he wrote about, we both were born in Raleigh, County, WV as well as our brother Jim Tate, who has recorded this song and sings it with his band the Jim Tate Band in and around Ann Arbor, Michigan. Terry was a very special, gifted singer and song writer as well as a special friend and brother. I miss him very much and I thank you for having this tribute to him on your website. Thank you very much. Rev. Gary Tate / Lexington, North Carolina
