60 more minutes out of your life to watch music? Why the hell not. Hopefully you'll dig seeing the common thread between Debbie Gibson, the Circle Jerks and the Soft Boys, this Dallas TV news report on punk (circa 1980-81 ish prominently featuring Stickmen With Rayguns (!), or ZZ Top throwing down "La Grange" on Leno. Also dug up a clip from David Sanborn's late great Night Music TV show (which ran for a short time on NBC around 1988-89); only here could you see Conway Twitty backed by the Residents, or Bongwater aided by Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Bob Weir, and Hoboken's Pussywillows. Please note the very swank dress on WFMU axe-slinging pal Dave Rick. Also dig the not-so-complementary dress on Al Green, seen here on Soul Train in full drag. Speaking of sexual magnetism, check out Syrian crowd-worker Omar Souleyman (of recent Highway To Hassake Sublime Frequencies release fame). Wire posted a clip of "Heartbeat" from the legendary WDR German TV special from 1979 (which you can get in full via their Pink Flag label). Also, CSTB posted a short, Swedish news clip on everyone's favorite Scandinavian brutes, the Brainbombs (trust me, no translation necessary), with the astute observation that yes, it probably would kill them to smile. Oddly enough, when I did a search for the Brainbombs on You Tube, the Rev. Louis Overstreet popped up, which shocked me mainly because in conversation once I literally once compared the two in terms of heaviness. I might have posted this Overstreet clip, but, well, you need to see it again. on And finally, this clip of Japanese motorin' psych freaks the Flower Travellin Band appears with no related tag except "Joe", the band's singer and I literally stumbled upon it, and am pretty glad I did, especially for the trippin' crowd show.
Interesting, Bongwater covering a Roky Erickson tune with Screamin' Jay!!!

Maybe the weirdest thing (the magic of computers, pure coincidence?) about that Flower Travelin band clip, is that "all related videos" for that video on youtube has a clip of Joe Rogan talking about doing DMT!!
