It bugged me for a while, but I think I've worked out that the You Ya track is, musically at least, a cover of Gary Glitter's "I Didn't Know I Loved You (Til I Saw You Rock'n'Roll)". Any more info on this one?

Julie DeJohn's final high-note is one for the ages.

The "Betty Harris and Jack Arthur" here,is obviously a compilation of material that was issued on various labels under the Synthetic Plastics umbrella, like Diplomat,Promenade, and Parade in the 50s and 60s.I recognize the great "Little Boy,Little Girl" here.I have it on one of two Diplomat compilations of mambo material,by Machito and Puente they issued,on a special latin offshoot label that ran briefly in the mid 60s.This material was recorded about a decade earlier, and was either otherwise unissued,or originally came out on very tiny labels. The Stashu Pandowski,is from one of the many Polka Lps Diplomat issued in the early 60s.And they put out a ton of them.
I have downloaded this song,so when I dig through my tens of thousands of records again,I can dig out these Lps,and identify this gem.
Diplomat's immediate predecessor,Promenade, issued some very interesting French radio recordings of composer Henri Tomasi, conducting famous pieces like "Swan Lake" and "Peer Gynt", that are far removed from his own stuff.
Diplomat is perhaps best known for Beatlerama by The Manchesters, which featured a teenage Rick Derringer, but both Diplomat, and Promenade/Parade have been sadly overlooked in comparison to SPs other labels, like Peter Pan and Power. Now they even rate a Wikipedia entry, and are working with iTunes to digitize it.
