No general theme to this post. Just a bunch of goodies, some Christmas related and plenty not. Here's what I've been enjoying this week:
Over twenty Christmas themed episodes of The Jack Benny Show spanning three decades and several sinister sponsors.
Two Christmas themed episodes of the classic radio gore show The Whistler.
A six year old child murders a four year old on this gruesome Christmas episode of Dragnet.
I've recently been in love with video sharing site Guba.com. It's in the same vein as YouTube, the only difference being that the quality of video is better and you can watch full episodes of rarities up to an hour in length. I recently came across this rare (almost) full episode of The Steve Allen Show from 1957. Absolutely great, it features guests Xavier Cugat and Jerry Lewis.
Merv Griffin interviews Don Rickles for a half an hour, this time without Nina Hagen.
Evel Knievel appears on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson (and for those who missed it a couple weeks ago, an appearance on Dick Cavett).
And perhaps the weirdest appearance of Jim Backus is this clip.
The notorious marijuana episode of the Dragnet television show.
Celebrity Bowling with Richard Deacon!
Don't give the ending away in the capsule description, man! Isn't there some less revealing, but still sufficiently lurid, way of describing the Dragnet radio episode?

I thought that happens in the start of the episode. It does!
