Good choice, Benjamen -- this is a really great film. The racial tensions are well handled, especially considering that this came out pre-Civil Rights era.

Also worth mentioning is that besides being Poitier's film debut, it is also the film debut of Ossie Davis and one of the earliest appearances of Oscar nominee Ruby Dee.

Yesterday, February 20th was Mr. Poitier's 81st birthday. BTW-Richard Widmark is still alive at the ripe old age of 93. God bless 'em both!
