Jones was guitarist of Pere Ubu from 1987-2002 and passed away in Cleveland Monday night after a long illness. Besides Ubu, Jim's involvement stretched into bands like the Mirrors, Styrenes, Easter Monkeys, Home and Garden, and Foreign Bodies. He was 57.

It was the Easter Monkeys -- not the "eastern monkeys". Jim Jones was a phenomenal musician and genuine great and nice man. It breaks my heart that he was gone. he is a man who has never gotten his due for truly incredible he was artistically and as a human being.

A couple of years ago, I bought a Pere Ubu CD by mail order through the band's website, and the package arrived with an appreciative thank you note from Jim Jones. He will be missed.
