Graphic designers, we need your help! Come up with a snazzy new
logo for WFMU and win a messenger bag full of swag. We're looking for
something that just says "WFMU" (in all caps) with some cool but simple
graphic elements or eye-catching type treatment. Send your submissions (jpg or pdf preferred)
or questions to me (lizb at wfmu dot org), the deadline is June 20th. There are some good logo design basics on this site.
I'm thinking any of these should suffice:

I always thought the name in an oval thing was so below you guys. The name in an oval was everywhere 10-15 years ago.

I hope that this contest works out better than the t-shirt one.
If I remember right, the winning design was a hairy meatball on legs.
Did it ever get put on a t-shirt? No?

meatball with legs was on a t-shirt, and they are out of my size.

the green of that meatball shirt clashes with my disgustingly purple skin.

Mac,
If you have a rosary, you can say four Mea Culpas.

Some of the t-shirt entries were AMAZING. I wish they had used several of them. Speaking of, has anyone received their shirt from this years marathon yet?

"WFMU" (in all caps)… is it a deal-breaker if there's some (U&)lc?

WFMU in all caps means all caps, sorry! Wfmu looks weird, like it's supposed to be a word or something. There should be nothing unclear about a logo, if you can't tell it says WFMU (as in a radio station, not some typo), it won't fly. That goes for upper/lowercase scenarios as well as for, legibility, and also the way you read the letters. Some folks are sending in logos like this:
WF
MU
Is that WMFU (read vertically) or WFMU (read horizontally)? If you're someone who's never heard of the station, you wouldn't really know. So yeah, avoid that, too.

Mea Culpa X 4

Do you need the station number(s) or org or does WFMU/wmfu suffice?

No need for our frequencies or web address, plain old WFMU will suffice.
