Host/DJ Michael Goodstein writes:
Since the April release of their debut 7 inch, "Wild Eyes" on Plays With Dolls, Vivian Girls have sparked a fury of articles and blog posts. They've gone on to release "The Orphanage" 7 inch on Woodsist, "I Can't Stay" on In the Red, and a sold-out full length LP on Mauled by Tigers, soon to be reissued on In The Red.
Choosing the comfort of WFMU's studios to Jersey Shore beach traffic, the Jersey/Brooklyn trio of Ali, Cassie & Katy came by to tape a special Labor Day set of noise pop for Choking on Cufflinks. Calling to mind the children of the Shop Assistants, The Pleasure Seekers, Black Tambourine, 60's girl groups, punk rock, and early 90's Olympia "love rock," the band blasted through nine perfect reverb-drenched pop songs with some sunny banter.

Thanks for the mp3's. I'll be seeing this band next month on a boat - possibly against a backdrop of the Falls. Anticipating much volume.

Sounds that their music is great. Maybe there's no harm buying their album.
