Like many others we were very saddened to hear of illustrator Nick Dewar's passing earlier this week. Nick was a prodigious talent and it was always a pleasant surprise when flipping through a magazine or browsing titles at a book store to come across a new drawing of his.
I've never had any contact with Nick personally but I know he was a longtime supporter of the station and is said to have liked listening in often while doing his work. A few years ago he kindly designed a sticker for us which remains a favorite among staff and listeners.
Nick's website is filled with many wonderful examples of his work as well as his humor. In particular, his page providing advice and insights into his work method for aspiring students is highly recommended.
Our thoughts go out to Nick's friends and family.
