William Rose Jr. started Billy and the Rockets in 1997. They began in Nevada (where they preferred playing in casinos "where the girls scream"), but he later relocated to California (without several of the original members). He has continued to play--although he is currently looking for some new band members (and apparently a new lover, as his band-bio states "Billy recently divorced his peruvian hawaiin wife and has his eye open for a new girlfriend.")
He likes drum machines, and he states his influences are "PRESLEY LEWIS CASH WILLIAMS PINK FLOYD". My favorite song of his is the one he wrote for his ex-wife 'Rosita'. It's called 'Rosita'. Take a listen:
Billy's ambitious, too. He wrote 'Tex-Mex Sports Arena' (for his album 'Sports Arena'), because he'd like to play in larger venues.
And everyone needs to watch/listen to part one of 'Cesium Cargo', Billy's newish "Rock Drama Serial Music Video" [he's also got a ton of other videos on youtube and other sites].
In addition to a music career spanning at least a decade, Billy has also written a number of books. Much of his writing and music is available for purchase online at lulu.com, which provides the following description for what appears to be the third in his 'Human Brainwaves to Electronic Speech" series:
HUMAN BRAINWAVES TO ELECTRONIC SPEECH III
"THIS BOOK TEACHES HOW TO BUILD A SYSTEM TO INPUT BRAINWAVES AND OUTPUT ENGLISH OR CONTROL A ROBOT WITH BRAINWAVES USING A STAND ALONE ZX-81 PROCESSOR. THE PRINCIPLES EMPLOYED CAN BE USED TO BUILD A SYSTEM FOR P.C. OR LAPTOP COMPLETE WITH A TRANSMITTER AND RECEIVER FOR A ROBOT. EASY PROGRAM EXAMPLES IN BASIC WHICH CAN BE TRANSLATED INTO QBASIC OR OTHER LANGUAGES"
dood, why is this shit good or even post worthy?
