Scenes From the Mermaid Parade 2010

If you missed this year's Mermaid Parade at Coney Island you missed one of the best I've ever seen. It was my 21st year behind the microphone as MC, the weather was absolutely perfect, tons of people came out and Laurie Anderson and Lou Reed served as Queen Mermaid and King Neptune.

I was able to shoot a little video (though not with my Hi-Def camera, which decided not to work) and it's embedded here. What you'll see: Me, just before the parade kicks off; 2) A group called "Chumdog Millionaire" and 3) "Acceptance speeches" from Laurie Anderson and Lou Reed.

The Greenwich Village Halloween Parade is nothing compared to the Mermaids!
