Give the Drummer Some's
Favorite Downloads from the MP3 Blogosphere
Like moths to a flame, like a tongues to a cold sore, so it is that every musical artist who ever lived is drawn, inexorably, to record a Christmas album. And, like tongues to a burning yule log, we here at Mining the Audio Motherlode are compelled to track down every last Xmas-themed platter in search of the least unbearable.
Why, only 364 days ago we convened on this spot for this very purpose, slinging a slew of vinyl slabs that, surprisingly, are all still downloadable. (See 2009's Christmastime Motherlode here.)
When you're done stuffing your stockings with last year's selections, cock an ear toward the assembled specimens in this year's batch of seasonal fare:
Tim Dinkins ~ "Christmas on the Moon" (Blog: Way Out Junk) • / • Various ~ "Siku Ya Christmas" (Blog: Afro Slabs)
Kitty Wells ~ "Christmas Day With Kitty Wells" (Blog: Lonesome Lefty's Scratchy Attic) • / • Tuna Netra's ~ "Christmas Songs" (Blog: Madrotter)
Various ~ "Bummed Out Christmas" (Blog: Dr. Drake's Christmas Music) • / • Mariachi de Román Palomar ~ "Navidad con Mariachi" (Blog: Música Popular Mexicana)

Thanks for posting. I always look forward to Wednesday's. The Kitty Wells' link is broken.

John,
Broken link was my screw-up. On behalf of Kitty Wells, I apologize.

Thanks for posting the link to Bummed Out Christmas. I thought I had that already. Actually I had another compilation of the same name from the early 90's.
