On a special 2-hour Mudd Up!, DJ/Rupture welcomes author Marcus Boon to talk about his new book In Praise of Copying. Available now from Harvard University Press, Boon's book treats the phenomenon of copying: how it inheres in human nature, and thus in music. Can we "live in a world of copies without originals"? Hear the discussion on 12/27, in the early part of a long 6 to 8 PM slot, as Rupture fills in for Benjamen Walker.

On Wednesday afternoon, downtown jazz legend Roy Nathanson comes to Miniature Minotaurs with Kurt Gottschalk. The composer and leader of the Jazz Passengers has worked most recently with his project Sotto Voce, furthering his interest in using text and verse in his music. He will be visiting WFMU along with bassist Tim Kiah, to play songs and tell a story or two. 12/29, from noon to 3 PM.
