Hank Locklin - The Country Hall Of Fame (3:08)
Louie Setzer & The Appalachian Mt. Boys - Bluegrass Hall Of Fame (3:37)
Yes, I'm partial but I'm awarding trophy to Hank Locklin, whose record wins hands down.
It's not that I necessarily hate bluegrass music, but in my book it will always be country music's occasionally tolerable red-headed hillbilly step-child. As with the lunar battle fought between country and bluegrass, country emerges on top again. Some things will probably never change.
And not to be left out:
Carroll Gilley's "Skid Row Hall of Fame" (which you so thoughtfully shared in this post last summer)
Thanks Greg!
